What the Pros are doing-Sports.

Focal Length of Lens: 300mm
Shutter Speed: 1/100
What is the effect of shooting at this shutter speed?:
Its fast for a picture that difficult to capture and also, so it wont be blurry.
Aperture: f/3.2
What is the effect (Depth of field) of shooting at this aperture?:
To capture the team trying hard to beat the other. and how hard they play.
Position: I think the photographer was shooting this picture a bit far away.
Giving them the players their space ofcourse. He had to be standing Kinda diagnolly from the base.

After Printing Posts.

We cleaned out the negatives by putting them in the chemical process.
Put the negatives into the enlarger and you set the enough time to make the picture
expose. The you put the photopaper into the easel and you see your picture on there. you focus it by turning the little knobs on the sides. Then once you got that done you push the button and it directs light to the paper by how many seconds you set the timer light thingy. The you take out your photopaper which now has your picture on it and you put it through the chemicals, or the developing process Developer, Stop Bath, Fixer and then Water.

9/11 Composition.

Avoiding Mergers
Everything is important. Nothing grabs your attention but the subject.
There isnt really a subject, all the people in this picture are the subject.
Lines
The lines in the photo lead to the ladies in the picture.
The lines add more texture to the whole picture.
If the wall was just plain, it would of made the picture pretty dull.
The lines are good there, by putting detail in it and how it makes the ladies stand out.
The Rule of Thirds
Everywhere in this picture there is something.
From the front, middle, and back of the picture.
If you cut the picture into 3 anywhere you would still end up with something interesting.
Balance
This photo is balanced because it has everything on one side to the other.
Both sides have 2 blue things on the side.
Which makes all the photo pretty much balanced.
Framing
Its FULL! Thats all.
every bit in this picture has a object.
Its just soo full! and interesting.
There isnt one bit in this picture that isnt covered.
Simplicity
This photo here is soo simple but says so much.
It has the firefighter cleaning up all the trash, which are memories in my opinion.
The writing on the pole.
Shows respect,it shows how people care, and how angry they are.
Like i said this picture is simple but you can tell a whole story about it.

Great Black & White Photographers.

Manuel Alvarez Bravo
Lewis Hine

E.J. Bellocq

Negative Critiques.

The pictures i took, two of them that i really liked were
15 and 16.

Number 15:
I really like it because it shows the people in the picture
struggling.
and you can tell that they are by the face expressions.
You can see what they are doing and it is very full.
By full i mean that theres something in all the picture.

Number 16:
I like because it shows not only how much they
are struggling but also how much fun they are having.
Theres alot of people in the picture which makes it
alot more interesting then the others.
Even if it only shows one hand or a head of the person.
It still makes it cool looking since not all of their body is
there just like a normal looking picture.

Academic Preview #1

This picture is very full.
theres something everywhere on this picture.
and its interesting things.
This is the Best Action. Its amazing how you can see exactly what is happpening
Theres so much to it.

This tells the best story. well i think so. You can see that the Girl in the middle
is the subject. and the peole in back of her are just there blurred out to make her stand out.
She looks a bit depressed thats why i picked this picture as the best story. By the way shes
sitting, her face expression, the way her body is.
You can just make up a whole story about her.

How a camera works.

Pinhole cameras and SLR cameras can be different in many ways but the same also. Pinhole camera we made in calss have a shutter that you have to open and close with you hand. And count how many seconds you have it open to close it at a certain second. The picture ends up on a photographic paper and you have to put it in chemicals to make that image appear. In a SLR camera you just push a button and VUALA there you go. You dont have to open or close anything at all you just simply Push! Once you push that button thats when the shutter in the camera will open to the amount of time needed on to a film strip.

Pinhole.

This picture isnt really good. Its blurry. and you cant even tell what it is.

I think this picture is Great. It shows the image and what the person in the picture is doing.
